After some significant hail damage, I decided to go against my insurance company’s preferred provider and support a local business instead. I chose Hewlett Collision Center, and overall, I’m glad I did. The repairs took a while, but when I was notified the truck was ready, I picked it up and immediately headed off to Fort Benning to watch my son jump out of perfectly good airplanes. After being gone for about a week, I came home to discover the inside of the truck was full of mold. To say I was unhappy would be an understatement—I was hotter than a Texas parking lot in August. To Hewlett’s credit, they listened to my concerns and took the truck back in for inspection. They replaced a seal, remediated the mold, and their technician also discovered a damaged cab vent that wasn’t functioning properly and was contributing to water intrusion. My son and I picked up the truck this morning, and everything looked great. Even better, Hewlett absorbed the cost of replacing the damaged vent. While the experience had a few unexpected twists and turns, the true test of a business is how they handle problems when they arise.
